School Supply Drive

Here at SULU, we are big believers in the value of education. However, sometimes it is difficult for some students when they do not have the supplies they need to help them be successful. In this project, we aimed to alleviate some of that struggle for some students by buying school supplies and donating them to a local elementary school, Carleston Elementary. 

To raise funds we hosted two community fundraiser. The first was a water balloon fight! We filled over 1,500 balloons and brought them to the park and invited people from around the community to come and have a fun evening at the park with their family with concessions sold to raise money.

The second was a kickball tournament! 6 teams from around the community signed up to find out who was the best with several gifts (donated from several generous restaurants from around the community) on the line. 

Altogether we raised over $500 and bought enough supplies for about 10 students to have a full set of school supplies recommended by Pearland ISD.
